Jocelyn (Cello) is an avid chamber musician. Her quartet became the quartet in residence at Indiana University for a year after winning the IU Kuttner Quartet competition. After arriving in Chicago, she was invited to perform in a string quartet coached by Richard Young of the Vermeer Quartet. Kalyan Pathak (Tabla) - Guest Percussionist
is a composer, musician, drummer and a percussion player of a multi-cultural experience. Born in Ahmedabad, India, formally trained, from age 9, in Classical Tabla with Ustad Kader Khan, and later an apprenticeship with the prominent drummer, Mr. Ranjit Barot, Teenage Kalyan came to Bombay in the mid 80’s. While devoting himself to western drumset, Kalyan concurrently did regular studio session work in Bollywood, and toured all over India playing with jazz and rock music bands. He has performed with international artists such as, Aretha Franklin, Shankar Ehsaan Loy, Theordore Bikel, as a soloist with San Francisco Ballet, collaborative group member with Fareed Haque, Howard Levy, Fulcrum Point New Music Project. Allegra has performed extensively across the nation playing principal for orchestras of the Chicago College of Performing Arts, Round Top Festival Orchestra and the Spoleto Festival USA. Allegra has served as an Associate Member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and a Finalist for the New World Symphony in Miami, Florida. She is a section member of the Sarasota Opera Orchestra has served as a member of the Ash Lawn Opera in Charlottesville, VA.
She has received chamber instruction from Shmuel Ashkenasi, Nokuthula Ngwenyama, Roger Chase and William Preucil. She has performed chamber recitals throughout the United States and has collaborated with artists such as the Pacifica Quartet, Stefan Hersh, Orion Weiss and the Fifth House Ensemble. Rose Armbrust Griffin - Team Violist
Violist Rose Armbrust Griffin received her Bachelor of Music from The Juilliard School, Artist Diploma from The Curtis Institute of Music and Masters of Music from Indiana University. During her time at The Curtis Institute of Music she held the James and Betty Materese Annual Fellowship. Most notably, Rose was awarded a Performers Certificate at the conclusion of her Masters for“recognition of her outstanding musical performance”. Her teachers include Heidi Castleman, Hsin-Yung Huang, Roberto Diaz, Michael Tree and Atar Arad.
Rose has performed as soloist with the Bogota Symphony Orchestra, Woodstock’s Mozart Festival Orchestra, The Curtis Chamber Orchestra and the Indiana University’s Chamber Orchestra. Composer Johnathan Graybill’s“Viola Concerto”, was written for and premiered by Rose along side the Ball State University Orchestra.
